We are a non-profit organization that was founded in 2004. The program
was started to help abandoned, homeless, and abused puppies and kittens.
LUV-A-PET has since grown to incorporate hamsters, guinea pigs,
chinchillas, sugar gliders and other small animals. We do not have a
physical "shelter", but rather a dedicated network of volunteers who foster
these animals in their homes. The babies are taken into private homes and
given food, shelter, love, medical care, socialization, and more love. Before
being adopted into their FOREVER homes, all of the pets are altered and
microchipped. They are also kept current on vaccinations and deworming,
as well as flea and heartworm prevention. If any medical problems arise, the
babies are evaluated and treated, as we are a no kill organization.
LUV-A-PET has also opened Rescued Pets 4 U which is the first adoption
and supply of its kind in Palm Beach County. We feature only pets that have
been rescued from euthanasia as well as new and gently used pet supplies.
We also hold adoptions on the weekends at the Petsmart in Royal Palm
Beach and meet prospective parents by appointment. Please email about
the pet you are interested in so we can let you know where they can be seen.
Our organization runs solely on donations of food, toys, blankets and other
supplies in addition to monetary donations.
